Frequently Asked Questions

Executive function (EF) coaching is different from tutoring because the focus is not on teaching academic content, but on building the skills students need to manage learning independently. While tutoring helps with what to learn (like math concepts, reading comprehension, or essay writing), EF coaching supports how to learn—developing skills such as planning, organization, time management, task initiation, sustained attention, study strategies, and self-monitoring. The goal is to help students become more independent, confident, and effective learners across all subjects.

Many of Loop Learning Collective's student mentor/coaches are certified teachers or have advanced degrees in their subject areas. All coaches are highly qualified, experienced in their fields and trained and mentored by Megan and Sam.

Loop Learning Collective works with students of all ages, from elementary school through college and beyond.

Intake sessions with Sam or Megan are $180, which includes the 1:1 intake and follow-up report.

Coaching sessions with our student mentor coaches are $110/hr

We offer both!

In-Person: We prioritize in-person sessions for our local, midtown Toronto based clients.  Intake sessions are in-person at our offices, and students meet with their coaches and literacy tutors in -person at local libraries.

Virtual: Our out of town, university and college students meet their coaches virtually over Zoom or Google Meets.
