Executive Function Skills

Strong Skills. Confident Students.

Executive Function Skills are the set of mental skills that allow us to use our intelligence to help us work towards our goals. They are the building blocks for completing tasks, in school and in life.

Executive function coaching is a structured, skill-based approach that helps students learn how to manage the “how” of learning—not just the content. It focuses on the core skills that support academic success and independence, including planning, organization, time management, task initiation, focus, and self-monitoring.

We build systems. Rather than tutoring specific subjects, executive function coaching helps students build practical systems and strategies they can use across all areas of school and life. Students learn how to break down assignments, plan ahead, manage workload, study effectively, and follow through on tasks with greater consistency and confidence.

Our coaching is personalized. At Loop Learning Collective, executive function coaching is personalized to each student. We meet them where they are, identify their challenges, and help them develop tools that actually fit how they learn and work. Over time, students move from relying heavily on external support to becoming more independent, organized, and self-directed learners.

We support transitions. The goal is not perfection—it’s building sustainable skills that reduce overwhelm, improve follow-through, and support long-term academic success, especially during key transitions like high school to post-secondary school.
